Our Story

Since it’s founding on the 14th of January, 1984, the Thangal Naga Baptist Association (TNBA) has been engaged in proclaimaing, teaching and spreading the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our History

The Thangal Naga Baptist Association (TNBA) is a Baptist Christian non-profit association of 11 churches established on 14th January, 1984.  Our goal is to preach the teaching of Jesus Christ and serve the people with love and compassion. It is a registered organization under the Indian societies act XXI of 1860, Reg. No 17/1985. TNBA is a full-fledged body of the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC), Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India (CBCNEI), and the Council of Naga Baptist Churches (CNBC)

TNBA was established under the able leadership of Rev. Th. Thangmi. The gospel of Jesus was first brought to Thangal Mapao village and gradually spread to Thangal villages.

Our vision and mission are:

  1. To bring perishing souls to Christ.
  2. To further spiritual growth of the people.
  3. To preach and teach the gospel of Christ in Thangal language for better understanding among the Thangals.
  4. To print Hymnal, Bible and other literarture in Thangal.
  5. To maintain unity among the Thangals.
